  • Charvel Retro Star Blue with Red Lightning Bolt

How many of you have these. I really want one but I can't afford it. Hopefully soon. I am curious though as to how many of you have them?

Matt at Matt's Music had one for a long time that I think he eventually moved. I played it and the neck was not half-bad, but the trem and body turned me off. I think this is one of those things that flopped mostly because the people who like v-trem stars for the most part only want old original ones. If you can find one for sale, you will be able to get a real good deal on it, even if brand new (unless the seller does not actually want to sell it).

They were a flop. If you find any leftover stock at a dealer, you should be able to get a good deal on one.

I got an amazing deal on it though...a very rare deal. Also I used all of the money I ever put away for it. Because I love the way that star looks, feels and sounds I'm probably going to do some kind of lay away deal for it.

Agreed. Them necks are fine, escpecially if you like a 1 3/4 nut=me
There a few around...if you want one you should be able to find one at or under cost. I was kicking around the idea of buying one about 8 months ago and making an Explorer out of it by gluing a chunk of wood in the star crotch. Ended up scrapping the idea (for now) for want of a Floyded one instead. I had some pretty-super-cheap prices for a few dealers. Last I looked two of them still have the guitars in stock.

Did those blue retro Stars have 1 3/4" nut? The whole new Star line has a 1 11/16" nut.

I'm surprised, but the specs say 1 3/4":

I'm suprised these didn't sell well. They look cool as hell, they have strat headstocks and they play and sound awesome. if anyone comes into a good deal and they don't want to buy one themselves please let me know. Thanks
