  • 1983 San Dimas Charvel?

Been lurking for a while. Took a shot on this. The logo looks suspicious to me, but I'm no Charvel expert. What do you think?

Looks OK to me, the scalf joint is correct for an SD Charvel.

Yes, I got it off the bay. The seller ended the auction early for me. What is a "scalf joint"?

Scarf joint. The line where the headstock is glued to the rest of the neck.

Looks like a real bad case of the clear going bad on the headstock. Otherwise, it looks good.

It all looks correct for a `83 including the logo. The case is the only thing that isn't right.

Actually, I was leary when I saw this listed this morning. The reason being is the neck. I keep coming back to those dots looking too wide set...altho, I've seen variances.
The plate looks correct, as does the strap buttons, knobs..minor hardware stuff.

The spacing at the 12th fret looked suspect to me as well, and the fret board didn't seem to have a dark enough appearance. I did notice one in the gallery (Serial: 2735) that did match. Given the overall poor condition of the guitar I thought it all might add up. Did Charvel use a white base coat?

White is what is on my 85 Charvels as a base coat

then it would likely be the same.

my s.d. jackson is electric blue and has a white base(large chip!) underneath.

i also had another jackson u.s.a. in elc blue that had a chip or two and it was white underneath.
