  • what are the typical specs of this original 1981 san dimas strat?

I used to own a bone stock 81 years ago that was this guitar
    http://www.jcfonline.com/gallery/cha...hristopher.jpg
but had two things different from the pictured guitar
mine had a maple figerboard and a matching painted headstock!
it has been many years since the tragic day i traded it for a pointy with a flame graphic(man what the hell was i smoking back then??
I need to know typically what was the neck thickness front to back and nut size?
also what radius was the most common on these?
all i remember is the neck was super thin from back to front(about 17mm's and it was laquered not a satin finish but more like a 70's fender
    but man did it play
it had a double creme duncan distortion and a then called seymourizer neck pup also double creme
If it's not a CHARVEL then i dont want to play it,look at it or even fuckin THINK about it!

No such thing a typical - but kinda
it was easy of you wanted a thinner neck just to sand it down and oil it.
But my 1982 EVH BY spec'd as follows
    21 fret neck
    1-5/8" Nut Strathead
    Spec's as follows -
    Nut = 1-5/8" x3/4"
    4th Fret = 1-13/16" x 13/16"
    12th Fret = 2" x 7/8"
    17th Fret = 2-1/8" x 1"
    21 Fret = 2-3/16" x 1"

What Hoss said. I have noticed some variations with nut width, with the wider nut widths tending to be thinner in a lot of instances. Convention wisdom is nothing standard though.
