And then again, the feature story on the building of "Frankenstein" in this month's Guitar World (pg. 65) starts with: "Chip Ellis of the Jackson/Charvel Custom Shop reveals the secrets behind the EVH Replica Guitar."

I ordered 10 of them. One for each bedroom, bathroom, and car so I am never very far from one.

Problem is, I dont have enough money for amps now.

LOL They're both relics. I think they took a pic of Ed's lungs and just put it on the guitar.

                        It is according to Eddie!

At the end of the video they play showing Eddie with Chip and others, Eddie claims the new guitar is just like his original and in his vernacular says "It's the shit" and writes exactly that on the back of the neck with a sharpie!

He also said the replica plays/sounds better than the original. For that price I would hope so.

                          • i hate to even ask, but here goes.....

can anyone tell me why this guitar is a fender? i'm not in the least bit knowledgeable about this guitar, but i'm assuming that the original was made from parts that came from charvel in one way or another.

i don't get the fender connection; it's almost as sensible to me as when jackson put out the polka dot V replicas.

can anyone cast some light for me?

I think it has yet to be determined if it is a Fender or not, exactly who Chip Ellis works for and how the EVH Brand fits in to all this.

                              • Refer to my second to last post from this one.

The paperwork say its a Fender in short.
