  • EVHgear.com has gone live

From Eddie Van Halen comes the latest musical instrument gear designed by the rock 'n' roll god himself and inspired by years of chasing tone.

Not much there, just the cover page with a pic of the Frankie replica (rotatable) and an e-mail newsletter sign-up.

Besides the Frankie replicas, I wonder if there will be a line of production guitars, and if so who will build them? J/C guys, Fender guys, or a whole new division? Hopefully, Fender or a whole new division.

I read in GW that 300 guitars will be produced at the Charvel Custom Shop. Price was ridiculous....

:ROTF: holy crap that's harsh. but probably deservedly so, considering how JCMI has been treating customers lately (sorry for the CS quality control issues folks, and by the way, we're jacking up prices on you now).

but there is no way in Hell there will be any new division within Fender to build EVH guitars, other than maybe some separation on paper to keep Eddie's royalties straight.

anyway, Eddie will not make much money on 300 CS versions of his old guitar. you need to sell regular production runs over the long term to generate any real revenue.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Sorry, I didn't mean it as a bash on JCMI. I was just thinking in terms of workload and CS wait times already being pretty long, that's all. I know there have been some QC issues, but I love my Dweezil & have a strathead coming.

I'll bet they will be the same price as the blackies... around $25000. Which is ridiculous for a piece of wood but people will buy them :ROTF:

at that price, we should just pretend they don't even exist.

GW said MSRP is $25000 to $30000. Matt's Music has a couple coming I guess.

I notice on the front page there that the guitar old School Eddie is holding has the 12th fret dots further apart than standard Charvel. What neck is on that guitar in the pic?
