Gunstock Oil
> Not sure what they use,but Birchwood/Casey Tru-Oil is pretty common, and you can get that over in the gun cleaning stuff at Wal-Mart. Tommy D."I'm going to try and work it out so at the end it's a pure guts race......because if it is.....I'm the only one that can win" - Steve Prefontaine

No I use the Birchwood Casey on my Raw maple boards (and the gun stock wax).
On Ebony someone from one of the other boards turned me on to this stuff called "guitarHoney) and it's for rosewood and ebony boards.
I use it on my Sl2H soloist and it makes the fretboard look and feel great. If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

It's called Gerlitz Guitar Honey. Awesome stuff for ebony and rosewood, not recommended for maple boards.

The J/C Custom Shop uses Birchwood Casey Gunstock oil.
I got this from Mike Kotzen and Mike Shannon directly. They wipe it on, then right off several times without any "dwell time".Last edited by Bengal65; 02-01-2007, 11:51 PM.Tone is like Art: Your opinion is valid. Listen, learn, have fun, draw your own conclusions.
