That's what I was told as well. I believe the guy they deal with now is Benjamin Dover - his friends call him Ben.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

I've had a CS Charvel on order since last July. The dealer still say's no word on it. He did say that he ordered 7 CS Charvels at the same time and only one has shipped after 8 months. I just hope that there is still some compitition among the dealers left. This buisness about a handful of select dealers could result in some very expensive Charvels. I may have ordered my last new Charvel.

I have gotten nothing but hasseled about artist similar models when I was not even trying to place an artist replica CS order or some other stupid "our way or the highway policy" or the price now being through the roof.

It looks like no more CS orders for me by the way I ordered my CS strat head when they became available and it just showed up the other week so it was about 13-14 months for my order.

I would love nothing more than to order a CS Charvel, but because of the price and the 2 year wait, forget it. If it was only one or the other, maybe, but not both. I've decided to have my dream guitar custom made from various sources (body, neck, parts, etc). Hopefully it turns out great. Even if it doesn't, it won't cost $3000 and take 2 years.

All I can say is GOOD!!! Serves 'em right!

Ridiculous price increases + serious quality control issues should be met by the buying public with a big middle finger.

I'd have to question anyones sanity for ordering a new CS Fender Charvel at todays prices given all the quality issues they've been having for years now.

As far as 45 days. It's 45 days to build the guitar but another 9 months to make it through warehousing and shipping.

Dude, it's like 200 yards between the warehouse and the shipping desk....lots of shit can happen between those two places....

Matt, thanks for at least confirming a part of this.

It's probably not exactly a terrible move. A few years ago, I pretty much figured Charvel for dead. Akai-Jackson wasn't doing much with them. Sure here and there one would trickle out for NAMM but nothing but there wasn't much exept for a skeleton MIJ line. It might be a good thing to crank out maybe 20 small batch lines per year or so? Seems like every med-large Charvel dealer has done a special run here and there.

As for the price? I'm not going to spend much more than $1500-$2000 for a bolt on, no matter who hand made or what kind of paint job is on it.

On the bright side...if you have a few extra's sitting in the case (like me)...your stock is rising.

My opinion...one way or another..they have to cool it on the price increases or there going to lose lots of peeps willing to buck up for the a C/J. One thing is for certain, if I don't buy a Charvel or Jackson with my $1500-$2000. I'm not going to bust out the cash a Fender instead. Might as well just put it into a PRS or a (1/2 as much on a) Warmoth.

It will be interresting to see how this all turns out. It seems that they are raising prices, reducing the product line, and limiting customer options and availability to drive down orders. This must be by design. I am wondering if the whole J/C line is heading for Masterbuilt/Teambuilt only?
                          Jackson: DK1
Charvel: CS (CSB), SD (RGF), SD (Bullseye), SD '83 (HRF)

Really. They must have built it three times to get one right in that time frame....
