DCGL has some sweet CS Charvies in stock w/decent prices. The green bengal and desert fox are my favs.

BTW - I was all up in arms about the price increase at first but I found a copy of the price list from Feb. 06 and the current one. Of course the first thing I noticed was the base price increase from $2500 to $3000 (2K up to 3K for a bass!). And looking through the initial options, there are all these increases. But as I kept reading, a lot of the options are the same price and some even DECREASED. So I spec'ed out a yellow bengal with H/H to compare. The (list) price difference was only $400 ($4110 vs. $3710), becuase the H/H option is actually $100 less now. Now, any price increase sucks but that's list, so it's would probably be about a $250-$300 increase in the end. Not as bad as it initially seemed IMO. Of course, it depends on your options too.

Though you are screwed if you're a left-handed bassist - $1500 more than last year before options

That Hamer is stunning, and I can only hope I reach that level of perfection in my wiring skills some day.

Vince, you didn't hijack the thread. You are just showing an excellent example of an alternative custom shop builder. That guitar is flat stunning.
It must be something to see in person

may be a hair off point (but Charvel none the less), are they still producing the 3 EVH Charvies? I was looking at Musician's Friend last night and saw they still had them (at the $2,500+ price), and I'm thinking, if they stopped producing them and MF still has an inventory, isn't a price cut in order one of these days?

I called MF and asked several weeks ago. I was told that these guitars are still available from FMIC and that MF has many on order? Although he would not give me an exact # I asked if it was more the 20 and he said yes? he also said no discount even if they were discontinued because they sell quite afew even at their map price?

Thanks. That kinda surprises me that there's still those out there that want to throw $2,500+ for one of those.....

Of course Trace, from what I understand the J/C Custom Shop now knows it's all about you.

I wish.....but I fear the wait times will still be just as long for us that continue to buy J/C custom guitars.
