  • New Chavel Website

Just saw a new website photo at www.charvel.com,

their website was so limited for the past 3 years I hope they put some work into it. The coolest part for me (custom shop photos) they got rid of a while ago. Makes you wonder why some companies even bother having a website.

Altogether now: it's about fucking time they did something with the website...
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Wonder what's coming up next? Wolfgang, Ratt guitars, nothing for 36 months?

Nice. I visit it all the time hoping for some new stuff, but I get nothing. Now I get a "refueling" logo. :s

I'm going with nothing for 36 months followed by a mothballing of the brand.

                +1

I figure they're probably done for good (or for a long, long time) with production guitars, but will continue letting people order customs, even if it's just a few a year. They should at least use the website to show cool CS progress pics & completed guitars, and let people know where things stand as far as ordering, the whole Masterbuilt concept, etc. If they believe in the direction they're taking things, then be upfront about it. Maybe some people will buy into it.

                  Completely unacceptable IMO...

Very unfortunate that they have taken this great brand name down this road.

Another case of suits (money) controlling the little people (passion).

I'm thinking "re-fueling" means something is coming, probably at Summer NAMM. Possibly interesting that they left the "made in USA" out of the logo. Either way, whether it's something to get excited about or not, remains to be seen.

Charvels are going to be made in Mexico now.

"Re-fueling" sure leaves hope for something new coming. But taking a site down and replacing it with a .jpg isn't cool. They should have made the "re-fueling" comment on the existing, running site.

Hey, if you miss the old page, here it is

The mexican Teles seem to be very good quality, The only reason I didn't buy one vs American tele was 21 frets.

If they make a Charvel with the Charvel neck shape and feel, compound radius, jumbo frets I would check it out.

If they just put a Charvel label on a Mexican Strat neck that would be bad.

And in terms of quality, the Mexican guitars rival the American made ones. But I was thinking maybe start making Charvels in Japan again and reintroducing the Model series. Like that would ever happen

Well, they still make them in japan:

but importing them is another story, plus I know that one has a dinky body and 24 frets, not totally traditional, and the uglyist headstock in guitar history.
