Sue them? That's like me suing McDonald's because they gave me a Big Mac and I ordered a Quarter Pounder. Hey, wait, you may be on to something!
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

Amen to that brother. You my friend, YOU are the customer to FMIC.

All of us ham and eggers are second hand owners as far as they are concerned. You (Matt) buy the "stuff" and have it hanging on your wall collecting dust (insert Fullers here, et al) and until some egger shows or calls to buy it.
The way they have been exposing and putting their customers through is appaling.

I wouldn't dream of suing FMIC, I am reluctant however to take any more Custom orders (not that there are many this side of the pond!!) as I know the hassle I have to go through each time I try and order a guitar. I just wish FMIC would take note and sort out the problems for my and Matt for example as dealers and all of our customers sake. All we want is to have delivered, guitars that meet and exceed our expectations. It can't be that difficult to recieve an instrument with the correct specifications can it, especially from the best (in my opinion) Custom Shop on the face of this planet?
It's not Mike Shannon's fault, his is to me, the holy grail of guitar builders and it was a request by me for him just to sign the headstock which he very kindly did, nor is it the rest of the shop floor guys. These guys have been building guitars for years, to the correct spec but, the admin side must be seriously lacking somewhere?

              Sure....if a big mac cost 4 grand.....

Sueing the working joes isn't gonna help anything, sueing Jackson won't probably do anything either, FMIC can probably afford way better lawyers than most of us. However an attempt may just draw some kind of settlement. Somehow someone needs to send FMIC a message that this is no longer exceptable. What about the BBB?

If you are not fortunate or rich enough, you may choose to not sue.

If they piss me off to breaking point, I have five lawyers in my family (cousins(3), uncle and brother in law) that just for the fuck of it will make their life a little more difficult. From my side a couple of hockey tickets, beer and a thank you will pay my side of the legal tab.
Unfortunate and sad but that is what society is all about today.

Had a phone call today from my rep to say that the guitar will be replaced. The problem seems to be a stock code change for Floyd equipped guitars.........surely they should take note of the workorder which clearly states that I ordered a Floyd rather than a vintage. Anyway, I'm not going to argue as like I've said before, it's not Fender GBI who I deal with that seems to be the problem, they have been as helpful as is possible (cheers Gareth!!).

Take note though FMIC, please, please sort out the issues with the Jackson and Charvel side of the business otherwise, you are going to loose a vast majority of die hard customers (probably an insignificant amount compared to your Fender sales unfortunately). I for one would never buy a Fender guitar so , will look elswhere if nothing changes!!

Mike Shannon is the stuff, and a really cool cat at making you feel welcome and comfortable. Oh yeah, and he makes a pretty ridiculously nice guitar. Jackasson/Charvelaton will improve as they go, it's just a hunch i have. It seems like there's no other direction to go right now. I hope so, I hate hearing about the coolest guitar company to ever exist start to gag on a more than regular basis from what I've read. Too much talent there for it to continue.
Not helping the situation since 1965!

This guy has every right to post about his guitar and the problems he's having and I thank him for doing so. I hope they make things right for you.
As far as Worse I´m not so sure anymore, but believe it or not they still weren´t any better back then

They most definitely need to get their act together, though... I was actually hoping that the FMIC takeover would slowly put an end to this type of tale. Maybe it really is doing so, but SLOOOOOOOOOOOWLY.....

                      Probably too slow for most

+100000 Mike's just a regular Joe who would buy you a beer and hang out without even knowing you...
Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes! ~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~

I really hope you get that guitar soon. waiting 22 months is too much. Look, we live an average of 70 years. That's 2 less years out of your remaining, say, 30 (for us 80s fanatics) that you have to enjoy the guitar. It's really a consideration. If I have that much $$ tied up in one guitar, I'm not buying another. I need that guitar ASAP.

Could it be that FMIC has Jackson producing stock USA Select (in black) and neglecting the custom side because it takes too much time?

Some of the dealers list inventory sold, and when you look at what's been selling, you see black Soloists, black Vs, black Kellys, black RRs, all USA Select. The Jackson Custom shop may very well be a victim of Jacksons populairty among the heavy metal set, with FMIC pushing that side of the business for more $$.

I'm just speculating, I have no idea.

A small claims thing would not be as bad an idea as some of you are making out. In Ireland anyway that does not involve any lawyers only a small fee to bring the issue to a court. At least then the company would really know about the issue. 22 months and you don't get what you want? In what other business would you get away with that?
