Wow, that's a beautiful guitar...but I'd be pissed if it showed up without the Floyd too! That sucks, sorry to hear that.

I love it *exactly* as it came. I was unsure about the gold machine heads at first, though. I'm sorry that they didn't give a shit, yet again. Matt will be seeing a Suhr down payment next Tuesday.

How does something like that get missed?? If I was a J/C dealer and got that big of a mistake sent to me after 22 months of waiting, I wouldn't sell J/C guitars any more. Write them a letter saying that ESP is looking very tempting. If J/C is worth anything they'll have a new guitar to you for free within 6 weeks.

Well, I've been expecting a phone call this week regarding what FMIC are going to do and so far.........nothing. I would have thought that they would be quick off the mark to rectify this problem and try to keep my business? I'll have to chase it up on thursday but to be honest, I doubt whether anything has been done. I've already lost an order recently for a Custom Shop Kelly (ordered by me for a customer in October 2005) as they hadn't even entered the order in the system by April this year!!! I only found out by chasing the whereabouts (constantly I may add) and a backorder list which had no mention of the original order. I had to make a refund and appologise profusely to the guy who was not best pleased.....I don't blame him!!
Back to the guitar itself, as I've said earlier that it is a fantastic machine although it needs a good setup, but, I'm no fan of vintage tremolo's, especially with a pointy head and the string angles over the nut. I already have a 25th........just wish that had a Floyd but, I'm not going to modify it.

Sorry about the ranting but I'm a little P****d with their customer service!!

              Cheers
              Steve

They have a lot of things to do with Summer NAMM around the corner and the reorganization of the Shop.
I wouldn't doubt however if they are trying to find an out of the situation by pointing into something on the work order. Something that perhaps was not clear on your request. They you must lube up and bend over.

It is obvious that the J/C CS is not customer friendly at this point in time:

                - They missed one of my requests on an order of mine, one item that I precisely detailed SEVERAL times.
                - They have screwed up several 10 pc runs and some have turned into major stink fests with threats of lawsuits and all.
                - They have marketed and priced outrageous pieces by mithical figure(s).
                - They have jacked up prices beyond human comprehension.
                - They came in here during the re-birth. Waved flags and threw confetti around. When they started fubaring up (on their own doing I may add), they balked this place without leaving as much as a Hershey's kiss on the pillow. I am sorry, men must face the jury during the good and bad times.

I don't mean to paint a dark picture for you. I truly hope you get this thing resolved to your satisfaction. But these Einstein's are fucking up a good thing so bad it is shameful and pathetic.

I would think that Jackson/Charvel would not be pleased with a dealer airing their dirty laundry on a public board. Yep, they screwed up but by being a dealer you are a representative of Jackson/Charvel.

I would be pissed to but your a dealer and should act like one.

I believe he said this is his personal guitar that he ordered - although he is a dealer. So though he may have inside contacts that a non-dealer customer does not, it seems to me it is OK to talk about the guitar he ordered for himself. I am not sure the dealer/company rep clause applies here.

I love the guitar though Even though it is not Floyded it rocks

I wonder how J/C will explain this one. Installing the wrong trem is a pretty big Bozo.
                    Jackson: DK1
Charvel: CS (CSB), SD (RGF), SD (Bullseye), SD '83 (HRF)

Steve can speak for himself, but he's a J/C nut who happens to work in a guitar store, and he placed a custom order. In my opinion, he's got as much right to be pissed and air his thoughts on this sort of shit as the rest of us. The more attention that is drawn to this ridiculous situaton the better.

I wouldn't normally air "customer issues" but, after owning many J/C's over the past 18 years and for most of those, having very few problems, the last three years or so has been a complete nightmare if I'm honest. I've various quotes entered into the system and not been answered (2 for Ian as a matter of fact), severe lack of communication between the UK and the States (It's not Fender UK's fault as my rep is constantly trying to get answers for me). It makes me look incompetent to my customers which is just not acceptable. I try my hardest to promote the brand that I love but it's not easy in present times!! The sooner FMIC sort out some serious shortcomings, the better. Otherwise, I really fear for the brand.

I don't understand why people don't sue. I have seen so many complaints on this board, and on numerous occasions, everyone seems to just grin and bear it. Look, if you want FMIC to get on the ball, write a letter telling them that if they don't rectify this situation within 5 business days, you will be filing a lawsuit against them for (well, I'm not a lawyer, so for whatever the offense would be). In your state, you may still be under the small-claims-court limit, which can be up to $5,000 in some states if I'm not mistaken. That means all you have to do is pay a small court fee and file a few pieces of paperwork. You'll get a court date, and representatives from FMIC will have to show up to your state. If they don't, you automatically win. And the cool thing about suing someone is that you don't have to sue FMIC. Hell, since Mike Shannon signed the guitar, sue him personally. I mean, all the bitching and griping about FMIC lately, just go ahead and start suing them when the screw up; otherwise, they're just going to keep making mistakes and getting away with things. They probably need to be yanked back into reality. And just in case anyone's wondering, I have sued someone in small claims before, but I've only done it once in my lifetime. I'm not as litigious as I may sound in this post, but in this case and many others I've seen on this board, I do think there are valid reasons to sue.

Sue them? Yep, that'll work / help in most of these situations.

                            ...Oh wait. You were serious?

I've read where some think things were worse under AMIC....Yeah, right.
This guy has every right to post about his guitar and the problems he's having and I thank him for doing so. I hope they make things right for you.

Dude talking about suing FMIC is one thing but suing Mike Shannon? Mike's just a working stiff like you and I who is working for a bigger company. He is an employee at will and shouldn't be dragged into this. Wanna sue FMIC or talk about it ...fine go for it but leave the little guy out of it he's just earning a paycheck
