Since this is not a FMIC sponsored site I am interested in knowing what kind of deals some of you have gotten from dealers on The Frankie.

I just got off the phone with a dealer I have done some business with on the past and he knows my taste for axes.
Me offered that if I buy a Frankie from him he will throw a boutique super Strat (doesn't matter the brand at this point) valued at over $3K and overnight FEDEX shipping on both for $25K. I laughed and then I asked if he was serious.
He was. Flat out he told me he is holding on to five Frankies and he is getting nervous.

    What have you seen?

That doesn't seem like a deal to me.

That price is the price posted everywhere, so what's the big deal?
This guy is willing to throw "case candy" if I buy it at the posted price. That's all.

Danastas, even if he threw two more boutique super Strats it wouldn't be a deal still.

well, you did seem to be asking people to quote the deals they got. And that is against forum rules/policies as far as I recall.

Even if someone got "a deal" of let's say $20K for a Frankie, I seriously doubt there would be a mad rush on the dealer. In this case, I don't see the big deal. However, I'm sure there was probably a 50 page contract that had to be signed before dealers took possession of these guitars

I do think there will be several dealers floating some serious cash waiting for these things to sell. That would be a bigger deal for me if I were the dealer.

If I were HOT after one of these, and considered that Jimi Hendrix Vs were selling for $20k, and if was thinking in those terms, then I'd still expect the standard 35% off. I'd pay $15k.

But then of course $25k is just an arbitrary price that someone pulled out of their ass. To even participate in this discussion, you'd have to be someone with a ton of disposable income.

Now I say this, and I hide my head in shame having bought $10k of gear over the last 3 years, and yet I somehow managed to still buy a new $1700 amp TONIGHT!! Ugh.

You know what's funny, there are people out there that will buy a limited edition vehicle for big money when the car will get you from point "A" to point "B" just as easily as a cheap car! So why spend the extra money.... because they can and they want to! Why spend $20,000.00 to $25,000.00 on a Harley when you can buy another brand for $10,000.00?

As was mentioned in another thread... getting those hand painted
EVH from 3 years ago for around $11K would imo be a much better purchase right now. But there are a ton of wall street types, who
spend $25K a year on Starbucks, so why not on a Fender?

Well, a Squire isn't going to get you from point A to point B.

Put it this way, is this Frankie going to sound and play better than a PRS Private Stock? Somehow, I doubt it.

I was offered one at a little over cost, which is 15K for the dealer. I have also been offered one for 18k.

I am not naming dealer names, so I see no problem in listing prices I have been offered.

Even at these prices I find this guitar a waste of money. Plain and simple there are way too many of them(300) and they are replicas. Nothing more than that. when this project 1st got announced, it was supposed to be a run of 100 with a price in 10-12.5k range. At those prices and numbers it was a more desirable project to me. As soon as I found out they were making 300 and the price had jumped to 25K, I had no desire to be part of that "cash cow".

For those that may not know, I have a EVH hand painted Black/White. Those to me a way more desirable. They were hand striped/painted by Eddy at his home, played by him in concert with documentation, and there are less than 80 of them.

Those Frankies are just copies of a guitar he owns, he had no involvement with them, other than giving them his guitar.
Come and get one in the yarbles, if you have any yarbles, you yunick jelly thou!

+1 on the numbers they're producing. Yeah, there's a lot of work going into relicing them, but ultimately, if I was paying 25k for a guitar I'd want there to be a damn sight less than 300 of them.

From an investment perspective, that kind of production can't be a good thing either...
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Because Super_Shredder, you can afford not to! If you could only afford a Squire, you'd be playing one now wouldn't ya!

I know for a fact a bunch of these have already been sold to end users. So, although the guitar isn't a hit with most on the JCF, there's clearly a small group of customers willing to write that check.
Special deals for JCF members on Jackson/Charvel, Suhr, Anderson, Nash, Splawn, Bogner, LSL, Ibanez, Diezel, Friedman, Bad Cat, 3rd Power, Dr. Z, ENGL and more. FREE SHIPPING! 0% FINANCING!
