There is only one pawn shop in my area that always has USA Jacksons, but I never find a good deal. They always want almost new prices for them.
      Just one more guitar!

I find deals at Pawn Shops all the time. They key to getting a deal is persistance and luck. Deals are not going to sit around and wait for you, so you have to frequent these pawn shops.

Also, it is very important to realize that when you deal with a pawn shop your not dealing with a typical store. There is always room to haggle, it just depends on how long the item has been sitting on the shelf. Some pawn shop have codes on the price tag that tells the pawn clerk exactly how much they have invested in the item. For Example, Cash America uses MARY LOUISE. M= 1, A=2, R=3 and so forth. So the code MALEE = 125.00.

Knowing how much a pawn shop has paid for an item will give a better idea of how low they are willing to go. If you see that a Pawn shop paid more than you would be willing to pay then you might as well walk away because they are not about to sell it for any less. They'd much rather let it sit for a few months or years and hope that some idiot will buy it. After a while they will blow out the item and sell for dirt cheap after it has sat for awhile.
          Damn, I love this Interweb.

              Nice scores man...

Make friends with the owner of the pawnshop. Makes getting deals that much easier. I do setups for a local pawn shop. Makes the guitars more playable thus sellable, and I get great deals on the stuff I dig...
              I'm angry because you're stupid

                    Yep, 6-84 to be exact.

Yeah, there are Alaska license plate tags from 1988-2000 on the control cavity plate.

Yes, someone wrote on the guitar with a sharpie at some point. Most of it has worn away but I'm still trying to figure out the best way to remove the rest of it.

What a pair, I like the Camo Charvie, thats a cool Axe with the Matte paint and Kahler Pro 2, low serial #.
As far as what looks to be a permanent marker, try rubbing alcohol or something like goo-gone (citrus smelling stuff) Opps, maybe even WD-40. Dont use anything abrasive.
If there is no clear coat, then try in in a small inconspicious (sp?) area. If that doesnt work then just good ol wear and tear from playing it may do the trick. Great score BTW.

ps: I was also going to suggest a wax,or pre cleaner that are safe for clear coats, but then the guitar will be way to slippery.

Ya know, I've been wondering about that too. It looks like a scalloped fretboard. Someone must have done it intentionally. I can't imagine how that would occur naturally.

Thats weird, I see that. I wonder if the Pup was to high and from palm muting over the years? If not, who the hell knows?
