I don't have any pics but I was checking out a used Charvel at a store, represented as a USA, that I couldn't place on the JCF serial number chart, so presumably it is more recent. It was a pointy bolt-on, with H/S/S Duncans, gold logo w/ Made in USA, with a San Dimas plate SS #6668, OFR, purple burst color and looked flawless from the head to the maple neck/dark fingerboard to the body, like it just came out of the factory or was never used.

Anything sound fishy right off the bat to the experts based on that?

Legit, and originally sold by DCGL. Looks like a cool guitar - and that color (ultra-violet burst) isn't very common, either.

Cool, nice detective work . I can't totally make out the serial number but that looks just like it with the single knob, etc.

Is that a custom shop creation then, it doesn't have a custom shop logo on the headstock?

        That was a "USA Standard".

BTW, props to busdriver, who set up that database of new Charvels.

Shreddermon, I see where you got that now, thanks, I should've looked first.

Now if only I could see how much DCGL sold it for.

Not sure how much it actually went for, but DCGL had it heavily discounted on "clearance" before it sold.

Custom shops can be ordered without the custom shop logo.

Price now is about the same as DCGL's lowest priced Charvel on their website, the flame top.

Seriously? That is several hundred more than what DCGL had it for on clearance when it was new.

Ha ha, nice, that's GC for ya.

That helps a lot to know though if I want to make them a lower cash offer.
