These guitars are so ridiculously overpriced it is sad. I can't imagine paying that much for a guitar. Every guitar I've ever bought I've modified to make it more suitable to my playing style, I'd have to do the same shit to those expensive doorstop guitars.
Oh well. There will always be people with more money than sense.

They finally updated the Charvel site a little. Pat was dead on about them being reduced to $5k. Here are the MSRPs:

Jackson/Charvels are the sports cars of the guitar industry....! Would you rather drive a Ferrari or a Toyota? Guess which one cost more......Shibs

Oh and by the way.... I just purchased a new Charvel and it was expensive, but I'm happy with it! If I thought that it was too much money, I would never have purchased it! By the way.... how much is a '59 gibson les paul reissue? Too much?Shibs

Another point is that the huge price increases have only happened in the last year. Before the prices had been fairly consistent in the $1500 range, which no one seemed to have a problem with. Charvel would have never attempted the Grover Legacy at those initial prices 2 years ago(they were $10,000 by the way). Then they introduced that stupid Masterbuilt Fender idea into the Charvel line. Which is almost impossible to get around if you want anything more than a bone bares plain Charvel. Did you know wanting Alder makes it Masterbuilt? That is where alot of the bitching is coming from, that coupled with ridiculous wait times of 2 years not being uncommon and slew of QC problems, have caused a rise in complaining on this board.
