One of the delays is they found a problem with the body after it had been painted and they remade the body. Which I am very glad they found the issue before the guitar shipped. Their was another delay but that delay was not Jackson's fault.

How does the tone on this one compare to the Napalm Bengal?

It is birdseye maple. It is probably the most figured board I have seen.

The tone is very similar to my Napalm Bengal. The bridge pickup in the Bengal has more output and does not have as much low end as the Charvel. Neither one are muddy but the Charvel does have more low end. The EMG in the Bengal has a flatter response in the high end where the Charvel tapers off more.

The bridge in the Charvel has more bass but the output of both guitars is very similar. They both taper off on the high end about the same. Both guitars are wired for 18 volts.

I have new pictures up here.
