I've only had it for a day so far, so just first impressions for now. Killer guitar. Very toneful. The body wood with the blocked trem make the body sustain and vibrate almost like a PC1! Smoking neck - super birdseye, and a great feel. Went out on a limb with the satin finish, but am really enjoying it. It's a great compromise for necks between oiled feel & clearcoated stability. Feel-wise, very close to an oiled neck. I'm digging it!
BTW, the pics just don't do the color justice. It's so very cool. When I first pulled it out of the case, my 5 year old daughter literally squealed "oooh! minty fresh!", and then sniffed the guitar expecting it to smell like gum! ...Not kidding! :ROTF:
I also have to give some special props to the custom shop guys, especially Brian McD and Chris Fleming. This guitar involved a "mea culpa" for some prior issues. After hearing the initial complaints, McD and Chris were convincingly concerned about hearing through the problems and, more importantly, trying to make things right. And then they went ahead and did it. Their efforts have gone a long way in restoring my faith in the J/C custom shop. So thanks to them both - you guys rule. And thanks for an absolutely smokin' guitar!
Also - as always! - Matt from Matt's Music just rules. Soup to nuts, Matt takes care of his customers.
