I've been waiting with credit card in hand to see what Charvel was going to bring out new and exciting for 2008. We'll the card is going back in the wallet. I think they got this one off e-bay and trying to pass it off as a "relic". For $3200 you even get a rusted to hell Floyd Rose. Come on Charvel WTF?

If they would just produce some normal guitars they might actually sell a few.

I agree Mike, those bumwads have been hanging out with the buttplugs at the Fender CS and getting ideas on stupid Relics, that don't even look like real relics.

I was talking to a dealer friend of mine, he deals old and new. He tells me those super relics coming out of the Fender CS are laughable, remember what PRS said at the experience. "It's like someone tied the guitar to the back of a pickup truck and drove it around the parking lot and for good measure gave it a good dremmel treatment afterwards".
But you know what else he told me?.... he can't stock 'em fast enough because people buy them?! a lot!! Go figure.

Personally I can think of at least one good place where they can stick those into.

the point ur missing is that its impssible for any charvel to look like this after 25 years, because they're all poly finished right? only nitro finishes would get that way....after about 30 years....

From what I see in the pics, I think it looks cool. Though I'd like to know that the Floyd isn't fake-rusted into an unadjustable block of crap.

Personally, I couldn't give a shit that it's relic'd nitro and so it's not authentic - to my eyes it looks cooler than most true worn Charvels do. Screw counters be damned

I just found out from a very reliable source within FMIC that the rust appearing on the Charvel relics is a result of Grover Jackson, yes you heard right, pissing over guitars once they are finished.
The guitars are promptly cased and held over at QC for proper aging to take place.

The innacurate finish aging is the result of a no-longer employed by FMIC painter.

And finally.... the 21 fret neck is the result of a shortage of maple, not disclosed to the public until now. Apparently AlQaeda has introduced a special strain of termites that eat Brazillian Rosewood and Maple. This in an effort to frustate rock 'n rollers and defeat the evil worshipping, mullet wearing, spandex fitting and one humbucker guitar slinging devil music spreaders.

So.... this guitar are worth every dime as they will be collectible items within a 5 year span. So grab them while you can. oh yes, they will have a certificate of authenticity signed by Mike Eldred, Todd Krause, Mike Shannon, Grover Jackson, Wayne Charvel, Chris Flemming, Leo Fender, Zakk Wylde, Liberace, Oprah, Osama Bin Laden and lastly but not least Les Paul.
The certificate will be mailed to owners 2 years after the purchase of the guitar, a tradition established when the 25th. Anniversary guitars came out.

Sort of nice, IMO. But if I had to choose between a shiney new one and a relic'd, I guess I would go with the new one. Why do I want to pay for "customized dents" --I just don't get the relic concept.

Anything is possible. But from the bigger dealers I've been watching, these things are sitting for a long while before the sell. TMZ has a lot of new Charvels and they ain't flyin off the shelves. I've been looking for reason to buy one and not one of them does anything for me.

Either way, I'm not buying.
