      That's one of Mike Hickey's:

Don't worry too much about the pocket width. Like Tom said above, it could be 2 1/4" if it had a pointy neck, but it could be 2 3/16" (or maybe even 2 1/8") if it had a strathead. Screw holes from the original pickguard should really help. Look for holes that don't line up with the guard on there now, especially above & below the middle pickup.

I don't have the original pickguard, but the hole above the middle pickup does not line up w/ this aftermarket guard. Also anyone changing a pickguard could have added a hole here or there. If mikes guitar is infact all orignal, and it bears the exact same signature then I am assuming this is a Charvel body from the 80's. Its too coincidental to bear that sig. Plus I bought this body in the late 80's!

Looks like Ash and the belly cut looks like a SD. If the pocket is 2-3/16" I have the perfect neck for it. Check 'em out here.

How much would a 1983 sunburst ash charvie body be worth?

Personally I don't care about "value". I bought it to use it and the sunburst was not me..looked like something a guy in a Marshall Tucker Tribute band would use. Oh and get ready cause I am putting a Floyd on it as well!

Cool! So that's one more thing pointing to it being a legit Charvel body, most likely with a pointy neck originally. Musikraft can make you a strathead neck with a 2 1/4" heel, or you can keep your eyes on eBay for a Charvel pointy neck.

Yeah looking into Musickraft..just trying to decide on fret size/Stainless or not..Nut width. I've got a Floyd R2 locking nut already. Theres alot to think about, but it will certainly be a strathead. Anyonre here know where to get a Brass vintage style bridge in case I veer towards a non locking trem? Also if I go with a Floyd can I just drill and insert the 2 fulcrum inserts or are there other clearance issues to deal with?

                      sugarlov,
Before you go to to Musiccraft ask slash at Mojo if he can make you one with a 2 1/4" .

Can't help you with tracking down the brass trem, but if you do floyd it there will need to be some additional routing done besides just adding posts & bushings.

Widen the existing trem hole? I would be going for a top mount, non recessed.

Yes the trem pocket will need to be adjusted and you will need to have holes drilled for the bushings.
If you are looking for a brass trem try ebay as I see one every few months there.

Anyone have a floyd cut body thats available to measure the size of the trem hole?? This is roughly 3 and 3/16 long by 11/16ths wide.
