The ones in my USA Jacksons are as well as the model series Charvels. The JT-6 trem is standard spaced too.The later 90's uncovered J90-C's may very well be wide spaced because the JT 590's are wide saced.
      Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Very sweet guitars, I have a thing for symmetrical Vees myself.
I don't know about other sizes, but in '83 R2 and R5 were available. Specifically, there are many '83 Kramers with 1 3/4" / R5 nut. (Like this one: http://www.kramerforum.com/george/ko...3_imperial.jpg )

Well, it looks like the low E string is closer to the edge of the fretboard anyway, and the pickup (or possibly the Floyd) looks a little crooked.

It's the pickup bezel that is making it look crooked.

Just looking at the back of the V, why is the control cavity so large on it? The angle of it looks weird as well, I'd have made it running parallel to the side of the V. Is there a preamp in there as well?

Looks to me like the floyd is off center favoring the bass side. That may explain the nut. Cool gutiar with a history none the less.

That was probably a body they had and didn't know what controls it was going to have when built thats why the larger route.
Both are very cool.Knowing the history is a plus too.

Geez there have been a lot of killer nuggets appearing recently.

Check this picture out. Another 1 7/8" nut with an R2 on some 80s guy's guitar.

                            Killer guitars!
