Well, just an update. My Charvel is in the hands of "Fender" authorized techs but now Fender, not the techs, are giving us slack about getting it back to Charvel. Fender says that, "the G&G cases are too shallow for the pointy headstock guitars and an impact or preasure can put preasure on the tip of the headstock causing the fretboard to crack". I can buy the fact that might cause the crack but first off if they know this then they should redesign the cases! He hasn't even addressed the clearcoat issue yet! I told the techs that if that's the case to haveCharvel put me a strat headstock neck on it when they get it and I won't have to worry about the clearcoat or "preasure" issue! I'll tell you one thing, if they don't fix this then I'm through with Fender products! I've never had such bad customer service from any company! I know that it's not Charvels fault but unfortunately Fender owns Charvel now.....

I told Fender in my letter that the headstock was touching the case and the supplied G&G case was wrong (no Charvel logo)on it when I bought it.Later on that I thought it may have something to do with the paint issue.
I had to send it back in the orignal "wrong" case, they were supposed to send it in a brand new case when they shipped it back to me.However I get it back in the "wrong" case and they put cloths under the neck support area of the case.
So I wrote Fender explaing this and couple days later got my brand spakin new G&G HSC with black plush lining (other one had dark red) Love the black w/Black Cherry.Henrik Danhage Sig Heavy Relic

Mine has the black plush lining.
What gets me is that the Authorized Fender techs told them that the guitar was in "new" condition and there was no sign of impact on the guitar or the case. Anyone that sees this guitar in person can tell that it's a warranty issue but they don't want to see it. It's like they're just passing the buck.... Disappointing. Hopefully it'll have a happy ending.

This is laughable. Fender ships you the guitar in the wrong case and then tells you that it is your fault the guitar broke.
This is bs and what you have to do is have your dealer take the guitar back and have it sent to back for both a repair AND the correct pointy case. fender now does know about the case issue, but a lot of guitars have still been shipped in regular strat cases and those cases will appear to "work" and then cause a break later (or maybe never if you are lucky and things just sit correctly by accident).
I had a cs arrive a year late with the hs cracked as a result of them shipping a pointy in a strat case. This was never a problem back in the day as charvel just bought the correct depth pointy case for all guitars. When the guitar came back after another year, it was in a correct pointy case and I have not has a problem with it.
fender didnt catch this problem until it cost them alot of money in returns (and alot of aggrivation for buyers).
the best part is, last time I checked, I was unable to buy a pointy case from fender as a spare. My dealer even ordered what was supposed to be the correct pointy case by the part #. they still shiped a regular strat case. Go figure.
Said it once and I will say it again, fender did not understand what they bought and it has been hurting them ever since."I''ll say what I'm gonna say, cuz I'm going to Hell anyway!"

This situation with FMIC makes me sick. Excuses, excuses. It seems Fender is exercising the big Corporate Wheel and has idiot's in it's employ. Back, over 2 years ago John Walker (National Sales Mgr.) was talking about the improvements in both G & G case application as well as the Jackson molded cases was in the works. He left FMIC/JCMI not long after I spoke to him about it. I presume among other reasons, I would have left too as nobody was listening to me! (Been there) He was listening to J/C customers and forwarding comments to management. It appears to have been left on deaf ears.
Be persistent with these guy's. I know your fustrated, but things will work out.Tone is like Art: Your opinion is valid. Listen, learn, have fun, draw your own conclusions.

Good for you. Stay on them about the case. Other thing I would say is that based on the case issue, the repair should be building you a NEW neck, not just slapping a bandage on the old one. If your dealer will go to bat for you, it should happen."I''ll say what I'm gonna say, cuz I'm going to Hell anyway!"

i'd be surprised if they sent a new neck; it's a really easy fix. then again, i wonder if they refin the headstocks when they have these clear issues or just send a new neck. i'd guess it's faster to send a new one out, but who knows.

some hot stuff and a clamp and you will never see it. I agree easy fix. oo bad about the clear coat that makes it harder.

They would repair/replace what ever they decide to do.I was at first dissapointed and almost demanded a new neck. However I then thought. .well now the body and neck dates won't match,so they refinished my orignal neck (has a beauty mark in the maple)so I know 100% it's my orignal neck back on.
I don't know if I had special treatment, but I am very pleased with the turn around time from drop off to pick up was 31 days. The refinish looks 10X better than the orignal one did.Not only is the new logo much brighter gold, its more defined and they threw a Strathead size logo on my pointy
ps:You cannot tell besides the Smaller logo that it was ever repaired, they went over the entire neck too,and buffed the body. . totally went over it.Looked and played Fantastic when I got it back.I have a special thing w/this particular Charvel,it's a keeper.Henrik Danhage Sig Heavy Relic
