  • warren demartini full specs please

    hi,
i want to buy a body and a neck from warmoth or musikraft for a new guitar which is going to be a tribute to my local italian football team (i have the artwork already in mind and a deal with an artist to do that).
    by the way.
i want to build this guitar according to the warren demartini crossed swords guitar specs with some exceptions:
it’s going to be a string through body (so I won`t need the Floyd rose) and I’m thinking to get a recessed gotoh tune-o-matic or tonepros tune-o-matic bridge (so I won`t need a any neck pocket angle).
I still don`t know what pup to use, but that doesn`t matter for now.
What I know about the demartini specs is:
1 piece quartersawn maple neck with 12”-16” compound radius board.
    22 jumbo frets
    Schaller tuners
    Alder body
does anyone have the rest of the specs in full?
    like:
    neck width at nut
neck profile (3rd fret and 12th fret specs).
Heel type and size and neck pocket size (2-1/4 or 2-3/16)?
    I don`t know If I forgot anything.

    Thanks a lot in advance

The DeMartini necks are the standard strathead spec, which was listed as .735" at the 3rd fret, .850" at the 12th fret. My strathead is a bit thicker than .735 at the 3rd, and others have said the same about theirs. Nut width is 1 11/16", and the heels are 2 1/4". If you're making a replica, you may have an easier time and have more options if you go with a 2 3/16" heel & neck pocket.

You'll probably still need a neck shim for a t-o-m bridge. I have two guitars with those, and they both needed shimming - I used a purple or blue guitar pick. They are not recessed though...

neck angle is needed for non-recessed floyds, and T-O-M bridges.

no neck angle is needed for V-trems, Hard Tails, and recessed floyds.

i'm really happy with my musikraft neck.

You can get the neck pocket angled for the TOM or Top Mount Floyd from those manufacturers.

As an aside on your pickup comment, Seymour Duncan now offers a Warren DeMartini signature model from their custom shop. Here's the link: Warren D. signature SD pickup

Hmmmm...Funny....In the picture of Warren holding the guitar the tuners and nut are Chrome. Also there's no strap button on the upper horn.
Don't forget the corn. It's nutritious, delicious, and ribbed for her pleasure.

                  hi,
on the warmoth website i read that no pocket angle is needed for recessed T-O-M bridges.
i really need to get this right when ordering the parts.
maybe the neck angle is not as much as the one i would need for a non recessed floyd rose.
i don`t know, all the guitars i have come with a recessed floyd rose and no neck angle except from an ibanez sz320 with a gibraltar bridge, aand that feels right, i don`t play it very much because of the shorter scale 25.

if u look at the top as well the nut is too small for the neck...it appears he may like his neck wide at the nut as well a la classical guitars?

The reason the nut looks like that is becuase it's Warren's Original Cross Swords Guitar. The Nut Width on the neck was 1 3/4". He likes to use a 1 11/16" locking nut these days as it feels more comfortable. That's why the nut looks smaller...

In fact, when he spec'd out his signature series, he chose the 1 11/16" nut width for his necks.

                        Hope that helps...

For the new recessed tom you do not need the neck to be angled. NON recessed toms need the neck to be angled.

That nut set up is the same as on the Lynch ESP necks. 1 1/34 nut width with a 1 11/16th floyd nut. When i called ESP about it they said that is how George likes it!
