I sure am. I wanna know the actual price before I order. If it's what I think it will be I already have enough to afford it.

In my experience, the custom shop Charvels w/ graphics are selling for a lot less than that. A lot less. And the used ones on EBAY have sold for $1100, $1200, $1300, $1400 the last few months (I'm referring to Desolation Alley, Hot Rod Pins, Tollkeeper, etc. with a relic'd Hot Rod Flames at $1500). Obviously, you can't be very picky about it, bu I don't think the prices are out of reach.

Found one of the things about Abigail working for Jackson,

She was laid off at Fender in 1985. She acutally ended up working at the Jackson Custom Shop and winding pickups there. I belive John Page hired her during his tenure at Jackson. You occasionally find Jackson guitars with warranty cards that she has signed.

I've always wanted a black body strat with a white top with the Skeletons Ball of 1494 graphic on it like Steve Stevens' had.

that could be done with the black SD1.

I had Dan Lawrence do the Adrenalize graphic on my ESP and it cost me right about $1000. Expensive but it was worth every penny.

Some dumb questions on custom graphics ...

1. How much does it usually cost for a an artist to paint a custom graphic? Ballpark range?
2. How durable are they? I assume there is some sort of clearcoat that goes over them to protect them.

You have to remember that these are all hot roddable guitars. If you get a plain black one and keep it bone stock, IMO you've missed the whole point.

I have a Tangerine Socal on pre order, but have been thinking about ordering a black Socal to swap out the pickguard and go with a H/S/S setup... Something I like. I had thought about doing that on the Tangerine Socal, but I don't know if I want to mess with that one

If you get a plain black one and keep it bone stock, IMO you've missed the whole point.

I plan on acquiring a plain black SD1 and keeping it bone stock. The specifications are everything I would want in a custom Charvel.

The So-Cal is definitely the more hotroddable versus the non-pickguarded models.

I actually would have preferred a blue San Dimas Style 1 with HSS, but I figure I will never get that variation, so I went ahead and did the So Cal figuring that I could change the pickguard and pickups if the HH doesn't do it for me.

Nope, never happen. It's a graphic, and probably a dealer exclusive.

I will be getting at least one black one. Hopefully one of the rotation colors for the rear-loaded ones will be natural - I've got an idea I wanna try
