I'm not a big strat fan either, but it looks to me like Charvel knocked this one out of the park. Great price for what seems to be a quality guitar. If you have a problem with the Korean Floyd, upgrade to an OFR and the problem is solved - and still under $1,000!!!!!

Newc: I read this on Trace's site that these will be made on "Fenders" assembly line by Fender employees,not Charvel employess.
The QC on my 2 USA Strats is top notch,so i'm very confident in the QC of these,just hope the USA neck gaps remain tight at the top horn,the Mexican ones are pretty sloppy,not all.

The neck is quartersawn like other Jacksons and Charvels but CNC machined on the Fender side with a San Dimas program by a Fender line employee. Then finished, assembled and setup on the Charvel line.

Also, they have already shown pictures of the body blanks and they were clearly 3 pieces so whoever you heard from is likely a poor source of info. That said, the 3 piece bodies really aren't a big deal...I'm guessing not too many people will be able to hear the difference

All I can say is Holy Crap. Those look nice. Hopefully by the time I can save up for one of them, some people will post reviews.

Buy a So Cal model and a new pickguard. Single hum, H-S-S, H-S, H-S-H, and H-H would all work with the H-S-H route underneath the pickguard.

Fender released a seven string stagemaster a few years back.

Drum City Guitar Land also had a blue 7-string Custom Shop Fender a year or so ago on their site.
