These look awesome and it sure is a big step in the right direction... but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, Charvel... PLEASE, give us a production guitar with a recessed Floyd route!!!!!
Yes..... and some stores located less than a half hour from the factory have them in their hands right now, as they type this! I have played three so far at the request of their buyers to make sure everything is fine, and man, things are more than fine!
I reviewed these guitars for another forum a couple of weeks ago, you can read that review here:
On Tuesday, my Jackson Charvel sales rep popped into the store. He had samples of all six of the new USA production Charvel series guitars. All three models in each color. Let me qualify this for those that don't know me. I played my first San Dimas Charvel in 1983. By 1984 I bought my first...
From an email from Matt where I pre-ordered a So Cal:
"You're receiving this email because you ordered one of the new Charvel Production Series guitars from me. Due to circumstances out of my control, effective today I will not be accepting any new Jackson or Charvel orders and will no longer be carrying the Jackson/Charvel brands at my shop.
Because of this recent turn of events, I will not be able to deliver your guitar and I apologize from the bottom of my heart for the inconvenience. "
Matt went on to be very apologetic in the email, but still major bummer.
Wow.
Dave
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood
The most human thing we can do is comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.
Well, I have just spent the last hour playing my employees Jays San Dimas Style 2 in black.
Here is my ONLY criticism. The knob they put on the volume pot is horrible. I predict about a 95% replacement rate. I can only guess that Fender had a ton of these sitting around and said "hey, let's throw them on the new Charvels". Seriously, just touching the knob gives me the chills, like fingernails on a chalkboard.
I was also just informed via email that I will not be getting my Tangerine SoCal because of the riff with Matt and JMIC. Since mine was coming via a store credit I have had with Matt I'm fucked. Now I have to buy something I really do not want or need. I only play Charvels.
