Not really my point. In my experience (previous job in marketing) the majority of sales comes from those who can actually get the product in their hands before making the final purchase decision. Hence, as long as there are 1,000,000+ ESPs and Ibenhads out there hanging on the wall in the local stores, that's what will sell. Sure, the internet and catalogues bring in some sales, but the vast majority comes from the store level. Which is kind of a good thing for those who do brave the mail order market because they get a chance to own something unique that not everyone on the block has played, but it does have limiting possibilities if you're looking to make a mark with your product but limiting it to orders only. I was simply replying to someone who commented earlier about why there were so many ESPs in the store and no Charvels.. I live in an area where there are two GCs and a Sam Ash as well as various other music stores so there is an overwhelming amount of ESPs, Ibanezes, and Shecters around, but I know of only one other Charvel owner..... Actually, when you think about it, that's kinda cool. I feel like a member of the elite.

I don't know very many people that order guitars, especially without the luxury of playing one in a store first. I normally don't, but if I had the money, I'd be all over the Pagan Gold SD2. Maybe I can catch one on ebay later.. I believe that at least 70% of the time, people buy ESPs and Ibenhads because that's what's in the stores that they can get thier hands on and try out. I've had more than a few die hard Ibenhad and ESP players try my Jacksons or Charvel out and fell in love with them, several have even bought one afterwards.

I am only hoping that the new line ends up being such a smash hit that we'll start seeing more of a representation of Charvies in the stores.

Well, to be honest, the Charvel wall was crowded for almost the entire time the whole 3 days, and I never really got a chance to fiddle with one, so I can't answer the neck/playability question.

I'm assuming it's close to a San Dimas pointyhead neck as far as profile, and maybe width.

And don't fret about missing out on a Candy Tangerine - that was the surprise hit of the show. No one thought it was going to be as popular as it was, but the one they had on display was the most-fondled one!

Mike MacGregor said that was the only color they were iffy about back at HQ, but after seeing how quickly they were gobbled up, I suggested that they'd found their new Standard color for these, and he seemed to agree (though he gave no official word).

I would not be surprised to see this color as Standard once the rotations are done - maybe even sooner.

Heck, I'd drop the Black ones and make THAT a rotational color

If he did that I would imagine he would be forfeiting his status as an authorized dealer and thus be unable to provide warranty support. If you had a problem, you would have to deal with Matt.

Unfortunately you're best off just pretending the UK dealers don't exist and ordering from a US dealer. It's stupid but that's the way it is.

I respectfully disagree. No way, IMO, they will move thousands of these without the aid of a` "GC" or "MF". For crying out loud, they don't even have an updated dealer base on the website! They're supposed to hit the streets in less than 3 weeks!!!

Good Point... With Charvel keeping the new guitars out of GC, They will need to promote the new models, or they won't last to long... We can only buy so many
Seriously though, I would imagine that Charvel will promote the new models pretty hard. Fender seems to do a good job of advertising
