I tried to hold out but in the end that color just called to me too strongly. there were two Tangerine SoCals left on eBay tonight, but now there is only one.

I've never had any kind of strat before (p/g, dish input jack, strathead), just a Model 2, so this will be fun. plus it's my first ever Floyded guitar.

to add to the fun, I was also able to use Newc's live.com ebay cashback promotion through PayPal and found that promotion running today at 25% off , and it all went through and I registered as required at live.com no problem, so once I get my cashback through PayPal in 60 days, that will be a new Tangerine SoCal for $749, not too damn bad (that discount really pushed me over the edge to get the guitar).

now the 5-7 days of torture until it arrives. at least the seller is using FedEx ground, not Oops.

Awesome , yeah i went shopping today as well the 25% rebate really made it a have too, i picked up a newish Iby 7 string and case for under 300 shipped, and i stacked an ebay 10% off onto it as well, and also picked up a set of X2n's

Curious, when i did the checkout, it showed my rebate amount for both purchases, but when i went to apply the rebate at windows live, once i applied it, the amount showing went to $0, but as i read thru it stated it could possible take a day or two to show up, does your rebate show on your pending list as the dollar amount or $0 after you applied it?

Trem, yeah I think it takes a few days to show up as pending as a cashback thingy in your live.com account page. then it's 60 days before it's actually paid and you can xfer it into your own account. I think. we'll see. this is very unlike me to sign up for a free anything, so I'm hoping for a +++ experience.

thanks ADR, it's an amazing color. I love your pics and all the others people have posted. fuckin, you guys are halfways responsible for my irresponsible purchase goddammit.

one thing - that flat pickguard and knob have to go. I already ordered a gloss black/white/black pickguard (no control drillings, I'm going to drill the vol and switch holes exactly as they are on the stock one) and regular black metal knob for it from Warmoth.

and yes the wait-torture is immense.
