  • More New So-Cal Goodness

We begin by me taking the day off to meet UPS guy, required signature.
It passes the avg time he shows up, look online, see not out for deliv. Hmm, can't get thru to UPS for anything.
Finally page updates with exception. Seller didn't add my Apt #,
    That's just great
Now I can finally get thru and update delivery location, but they say it won't be today, and I can't pick up either.
Must be tomorrow, which I gotta be at work since I took today off. Royally pissed.
Lo and behold UPS guy shows up 2hrs later, new guy, motivated. Said he got the update and decided on his own to swing by again. Killer.

My first Charvel as well as Strathead
First impression, much nicer in person and not at all disappointed.
This color reminds me of an old car the folx had, an early 70's Pontiac Catalina. It's near dead on.

Neck is surprisingly thinner than expected. From comments posted, I thought I was going to have to adapt.
    Pretty much flawless.
The knob we've heard about... Wow, its very effective, so much that you can un-callous your fingers with it. It's a hardcore grinding dremel bit.

Came pretty close to in tune, will probably drop the action a hair.
Haven't plugged up yet, Dimarzio gonna be another first for me (EMG addict)
Was wanting to go single hum, but shall see.
Other possible colors would be more irresistable, and might add on more. Shall see...

    <B>
    Few huge pics of course...

    Pickguard detail and paint texture/color
I wanna roll the edges mad...

    Sun glow

    The knob of death... lol

Great pics ... I just got my CT SC today as well ... with all your pics ... no sense in posting mine! You are so right about the knob of death. I was calling it the porcupine knob. I'll let it hang around on the guitar for now ... but I'm going to keep an eye on it ... not sure about that thing.

Great shot of the knob. Looks like it's been through hell and back

I know. It feels as bad as it looks. WTF were they thinking with that? I ordered new knobs before the guitars even got here.

The only thing I can think of is they thought it would look tough. Certainly feels tough .. I punctured skin trying to turn that thing!

                        Scabby knobs are disgusting...

However, I really like these charvels.

Fantastic photo of the knob. Now I understand why everyone is complaining.

I must ask though, why not take off the plastic sheet from the pickguard?

I did the same thing,I left the plastic wrap on the PG for couple days, shot some pix than removed.
I'm so used to my Strats PG that are beveled, that the Charvel one is flat? Wonder why they left it like this? so its anti-Strat looking.
