  • Charvel Re-Issue #7155?

What is the general feeling on these? The guy I was talking to didn't know if it was a re-issue, original, or what, and I finally figured it out (I think)..should be part of the 2005 series right?

They're asking $750 for it. At first I thought it might be an original (no brainer) but now not sure what these are like & whether it's worth a second look. Black single hum pointy, non-maple board, guy can't tell, I can't tell from the photos what the wood is, OFR.

$750 is a good price for a floyded one, imo. Get some good closeup pics of the headstock. Many of these have the lifting clearcoat issue on the headstock, usually along the bottom edge.

7100's looks like an early 2006 serial number. I own a 2005 red pointy (1H2SC) that I bought on the 'bay for $600 (body was mint except for one Huge ding right to the wood on the side).

I was completely impressed with the quality and playability of the guitar. Neck pocket was nice and tight (which matters to me). Neck had a thin feel (again, that matters to me). The stock Custom 5 pup for the bridge works well.

I'm a big fan of GMWs and didn't know what to expect with the SD reissues....but it was worth it IMO.

$750'ish is reasonable as long as the guitar is near mint, not more though. I got a feeling the production models will be driving the price of these guitars down even further over time.

These were around $1,500 new. Better quality then the new production series.

2006 wouldn't be a ReIssue, would it? Or were those billed as reissues? Same one ToeJam has? The ones they showed at the 2004 NAMM show with the EVH Art Series?

Anyhoo, I'd think $750 was great deal for a used one in excellent condition. Of course if you're used to getting them cheap from sellers who still look at them as "Hair Metal Geetars" and don't know how to value something that doesn't bear the Gibson, Fender, or PRS logo....

Yeah, my Star was made in August 2005 (serial 6768), same series. I thought they were called the Standard series and not really considered "reissues".

That's what I thought, but couldn't remember the Standard series
