  • SoCal in action!

    Hi,

I posted a reply on Youtube to a guy who had a vid of his SoCal, asking if he or anybody else would post a clip of the guitar in action, so he posted this one out last night.... It`s the first one I`ve found so far.

If anyone out there has a clip of themselves playing the new production models, get em posted,... I would, but mine wont arrive for another month

    enjoy

Threw this together for a member of JCF,I guess there aren't any clips of this plugged in.Neck/Br. tones. Enjoy. Check it out.

What a classy bunch of guys we have here. Here's a clue, jackasses: the video is of a JCF member.

And people wonder why more guys don't help each other out like this. Geesh.

The reason I sent this clip out, was not for the guys ability to shred, but to let everyone hear what these new production guitars sound like,
I `m still waiting for mine, so I can`t post a clip yet...

Sfunny how a post about someone pulling their Socal to bits gets 3 pages of replys, yet when someone buys the guitar and ACTUALLY! has the guts to post a clip on Youtube of him playing the damn thing! all you get is "HAHAHA He`s shit" etc.

The guy may not be Paul Gilbert, but at least he posted a clip ( The only one apart from some dude from Charvel demonstrating them)

Uhh, in case you didn't know, crappy YouTube audio is not any kind of good indicator of the sound of a guitar or amp.

And what's to see? It's not like a video clip of, say, a person. The guitar doesn't move. It doesn't flex or bend, so what's to see? How well it looks under household lighting? If you don't have stage lighting in your house, who cares what it looks like under those?

Seriously, the whole "porn" thing is getting waaaaaay out of hand.

Manufacturers spend a lot of money to have their stuff photographed properly so it looks as good as can be. Those are good enough for everyone.

O.C.D. is not a disease, it's a switch in your mind you have to turn off.

What's all the fuss in here? I see one derogatory post, yet folks are getting all defensive? I don't see a bunch of "HAHAHA He`s shit" posts. In fact, most posts in this thread aren't even about the video or the guy's playing.

I didn't see a problem with his playing either - it seems like a standard guitar shop test drive to me, but for anyone who would check out a vid of the guitar because they can't test one out themselves. Try a few riffs, a few licks, different spots around the neck, switch pickups, bend strings up and down to find any fretouts, how's it sound palm muted, how's the trem feel. And then the fall down laughing at yourself when you choke the big high bend to finish. Or is that just me?

Someone asked the guy to post a vid of the SoCal, so he could try and see one in action. The guy is nice enough to take time out of his day, and helps him out by doing so. He's not posting a vid to demonstrate his shred skills - just trying to help another guitarist out, so he puts the guitar through some standard paces, just to give the requester a reasonable sense of how the guitar looks/plays/sounds.

And then the stereotypical guitarist comparison responses start up. i.e., "You suck, and my shred skills are better than yours'. I can play/sound/look better than you. And, oh yeah, my pud is bigger than yours', too."

                              Fyi

Just so you guys know, that's me playing the new So-Cal in the Vid.I made it real quik for another youtuber. . whom I believe is "JediHalen" aka: Pete.
I cannot "Shred" per say,but enjoy playing and noodling around.I was in bands and played always played "Rythm". I sustained a very serious injury to my left digits 3,2,1. in 2004. Had microscopic nerve & tendion repair and lucky to even be able to bend my fingers.Cannot straighten out my pinky (its always bent)
I see lots of Vids on youtube of messy, out of tune so-called guitarists with tinny sound and crappy audio,so I wanted to be clean and play some chords. .use the Br. Pup & neck Pup. I used my Sony mini-DVD for the HQ and 5.1 audio rather than my Canon camera w/pin size mic hole.I have no reason to try and show off, just helping out another "Charvel" in player in the "UK" to see and hear it. I joke around and never ever take my playing seriously as you can tell.
That's why I left the ending "flub" in there at the end. As far as "delay". . well it was set @ 9:00. . not much at all. I didn't want to use "Verb" and with the delay from youtube (uploading). . . . didn't want to sound like I was in the Holland tunnel.
I never posted my Vid on here "JediHalen" posted it 1st. Guitar playing is not my passion. . just a hobby.
                              ~Andy

ps: Hey Pat, thanks for the support

You guys kill me. . ya bastards:ROTF:
Found this: "Removed picture of scare"
