Wow! I really like this guitar alot. I've never owned a Star body, but I always wanted one. Congrats bro, let us know what you think of it once you play it.

Joe, that's a nice Star also!
Did you guys ever see a Star body with a recessed floyd? I never have, I think its something to do with the shape of the body. doesn't look like there's enough room to do it.
Anyone have one?

I've never seen one recessed, but I'm sure it could be done. The block on mine was 37mm, so it put the bridge closer to the body than it would on one with a 42mm block. Though, I actually put metal shims under the saddles so I could lower the bridge to the body and use it for diveboming only.
For a body with a recessed Floyd, you'd need a 32mm block and a neck that doesn't tilt back.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

I think you meant to say 42mm, not 32mm, but I knew what you meant.
The recessed routing is usually in the same shape as the floyd itself, so I didn't think there was actually enough wood at the 'V' of the Star body to allow the recessed routing?
Joe, that trick you did to your saddles is a clever idea! I shall put that in my bag of tricks, and call it the 'ToeJammer'.

No, I said it right. There's three different sizes of Floyd blocks... 32mm for recessed Floyds, and 42mm and 37mm for non-recessed.
And the saddle idea is definitely cool... you don't have to bother messing with shims in the neck pocket.
I apologize, apparently I did not know what you were talking about!
I just re read your post, i read it too fast the first time and it did not register.
Yeah there are 3 sizes of blocks.
Yeah that saddle idea is Way Cool!!!(Jr.) that definately eliminates the guess work of neck pocket shims. I always hate it when you have that one guitar that it takes about 2 or 3 tries to get it shimmed right where you want it.
Thanks again bro!
