Thanks, guys. My girls sure the heck dig it.

Let's see if I can do justice to summarizing the process:

Paint Splatter Background: Took the body in white and hung it upright and to the side, to ensure the paint drips down the face of the body. I actually hung it off the kids swingset for this part. Then we just took some paint brushes and let them flick the paint at it, mostly in a top-to-bottom motion. The soft foam-tipped brushes seemed to work best for this - they soaked up more paint and made a better "splat". The girls picked candy magenta for the splatter. Then hung it up in the basement to dry - in the same position, to ensure the paint would drip downward.

Front hand prints: After a couple of days to dry, we took the body out to do the hand prints. Spread out some paper to cover the kitchen table () and gloop down some paint onto paper plates. The girls picked the colors for their respective handprints - sparkle teal and candy purple. Smear their hands into the colors, and apply to the body. Make sure they press firmly, otherwise the fingers won't really show. We did this from a few of different angles, including a wrap-around from the back. I didn't want the handprints to drip, so this time it was laid flat to dry.

Back hand prints: After a couple of days drying again, repeat the process for the back. Those prints are actually the wife and I. She picked a sparkle orange, so I got a yellow. Lay flat to dry again.

A couple of days after this, we actually took off for summer vacation. So, at that point, I hung it up to dry for a week or so until we got back. Then shipped it off to Charvel for clearcoating and the guitar's build.

P.S.- The case was a nice little bonus. Anyone pick up on that detail in the picture? Coolio. Not sure who I have to thank for that one.

Looks awesome, Pat! Very cool of the shop to work with you, too. What kind of paint did you use? I was guessing maybe something relatively non-toxic & waterborne, like Auto-Air Colors.

            Bro! Very cool indeed.

Down the line, when a batch of offspring are to graduate the "Guerilla Pete Fertilization Program", I'd like to do a tribute like that for them.

Good eye! No, that didn't come with the case. I meant the red sides on the case.

you know Peavey makes custom guitars with whatever picture you want on the body. I wish Jackson would do something like that. That would be double cool.

You're exactly right, bro! You and Mike Learn - who advised those - must be on the same wavelength. And they worked out great.

The kids cleaned up reasonably well afterwards, too. :ROTF:

I agree with everyone else, that is a unigue idea that sort of resembles art work in a way, cause I guess it is. That will be neat to hold onto through the years.
                            Excellent job!
Thanks for sharing the finishing process as well.
