I guess iits how you define parts mutt. I refer to anything not stock making a guitar a mutt (like a dog purebred vs part x part x). I guess the consensus must be if neck and body dont match..

Granted, it's not the best aesthetic match for a Strat-shape, but it's a great neck.

As for the original, I'm sure if you look around you'll find it for sale somewhere
      I found it.

Insanity. Just as a comparison, the price of a new 3A Flamed Maple Warmoth neck with matching maple fretboard, $337.00

If the Charvel neck was so spectacular, you probably wouldn't be selling it.

If the Charvel neck was that bad, bidding wouldn't have exceeded 450 bones with several days left.

Hell yeah, factory strings sweeten the deal

They must! I would have offered 200-300 but up to 455 that is more than the Jackson woodburn I picked up this time last year!

I threw down for 300 but was quickly outpaced. I wouldn't go much higher than that because the guitars will soon be had for about 600 used easy.

As far as playability - I would put the neck on my SD1 up against anything out there - it's sweet.

I honestly had no idea it would go beyond $250. Maybe it's a one-time-deal, maybe the next one will go higher, who knows?

I sold an SD Charvel neckplate a couple of years ago for $350. Someone else sold one a week later with a higher number for $600
