I'm one of the few people that have one of the new 2 pickup BC Rich Gunslingers in Red & a 1st batch CAR Style 1-2H Charvel.. I know people here won't want to hear this but out of the box, the BC Rich was a better guitar.. Sorry, but that's the truth

Now that I've spent considerable time on Charvel it's one of my favs. But right out of the box? The Gunslinger was better..

Damn, how much is the Gunslinger? Real Floyd?
      Just one more guitar!

Now that the slime green is out, I'm glad I waited.

I really want to spend some time with one to see how it compares to other instruments in the price range. For $1100.00, Carvin has some nice super strat offerings. Still, I imagine the quality on these is better than on the ESP LTD Signature models.

I'm not sure on the US price but the Floyd's are Korean, same as the Charvel's.

There are a couple links in some previous posts for the Gunslingers. Looks like they are about $580 and up.

Don't know about the Floyd, but I doubt it would be real on a guitar less than $600.

Based on my pagan gold Tele, the answer to that question is YES. I love the "real" ESP's, but all the LTD's I've played seemed quite shoddy.

Having been unable to check these out in person (I live in a musically repressed area that sells any brand of guitar you want as long as it is a Fender or Ibanez), I thought from the pictures the Floyd was flat mount. Now, based on what I'm reading, I guess the guitars leave the factory with the Floyd designed to float. Is that correct?

Yes, but the upward (sharp) float on mine was pretty minimal.

Those guitars are too plain and the colors are ugly. I'd like to see some sunburst or silver finishes. Then I might buy one.

I have to disagree with that.. The finish on these things are stellar.. They look much nicer in person than in pictures..

I'm still hoping to see some trans finishes. And if I'm dreaming, the dinky body shape and 24 frets.

If you like the Dinky body and 24 frets, why not get a Jackson Dinky 24 fret in Trans Blue?

I agree about the finishes being better in person. I have never seen a more striking color than my candy blue! It's ALIVE I tells ya! And that gold SoCal really wins the "return of the classic 80's Charvel" award IMHO!

Good suggestion, but I like the maple fretboard, strathead, and Charvel logo.

what you have to understand, is these are USA made guitars, and for 1100 bux... you get a killer guitar, with killer hardware.

Find another USA guitar with the same price point and quality from a reputable company.

a Gunslinger goes MAP for 600 and up, and the reason they have a real floyd, is because the company that owns BCRich also owns Floyd Rose.

the price of wood has gone up drastically over the last year, and be prepared for a lot of companies to raise prices. Fender went up across the board. Schecter did as well for 09, ESP went up on a section, and honestly thats just part of it.
