  • 84 pointy factory graphic. Whats it worth?

This is a 1984 pointy with factory graphic and a Kahler trem in original case in pretty much mint condition. Does anyone have any idea what it is worth?
    thanks for the help.

ps... it is a factory graphic 1984, I requested the build sheet from Jackson 10 years ago when I bought it.

Pointies with kahlers don't generally get high prices which is a shame. That graphic is unlikely to command a high price, so I'm gonna guess a max of $900...

That is a pretty lame graphic... but I dig the Kahler. How's she play?

She plays incredible. Extremely lifelike and resonant. I bought an EJ strat and I dont think I am going to play humbuckers again.

Oh, that will be a decision you'll regret. We all fall down that single coil Fender hole for a while - sometimes years - chasing tone with a little tweed or a black face and a tube screamer. Yeah - we've all been there.

You'll be back to humbuckers. One day, you'll hear it in your head - that chugging low-E sound. And you'll try with the strat - you'll try... but fail - and then you'll do it - you'll come crawling back to the house of humbuck.

... and then the Marshall stack will follow.

I think this is exactly how I ended up with my Model 4 in the first place... I bought it off a guy who went on down that road...

Nice guitar, but clean that thing already.

Real cool guitar oklaSTAR, but don't off it, heed Grandturk's advice.

cool guitar, all black, is that ebony for the fb?

but that is probably worth less with that graphic on it than if it was just black.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Next time your re stringing it...try some Maquires car polish...it will come
back like it was 2 years old! Takes 80% of the swirly scratches out..
                    especially on black.

Very odd graphic. Probably falls in the "miss" category as opposed to being a "hit", but whaddyagonnado. Does the build sheet mention the skull? You're going to be pounding on the tables pleading your case of it being a "factory finish" otherwise.

It's a unique one for sure, but if you dont love it then ditch it.

Just dont be surprised if one day you wake up and realize that while your new girl is pretty hot, she just doesnt have the curves and attitude your last one did. If you can live with that, then by all means sell it. But if you can imagine yourself sometime down the road jonesin' for that juicy bottom end that your single coiled beauty queen just doesnt have, then you need to keep this one just in case .

+1. Also, that looks like rosewood to me.

That graphic with a kalher and a rosewood board are simply not going bring any kind of premium.

If that is not the number you were looking for, you may want to just put it away until you get done with the traditional "strat" phase as was noted, particularly since the guitar plays well.

So very true. I've went down that road way to many times  I still kick myself in the ass over some of the guitars I've sold... And Yes I always thought I could replace what I sold, and I've tried, but it's never the same as the one that got away
