On the new Charvel Production Models, is the neck heal any thicker to account for the non-recessed Floyd Rose? I was thinking I might buy one and replace the body with one from Warmoth that has a recessed Floyd Rose route.

The difference will be that the neck pocket has some angle routed into it to create an angle to allow for the non-ressed floyd, or sometimes a shim is used. The neck heel will work with or without that angle, so it should work fine with a flat pocket for a recessed floyd. The thing I'd be more concerned about is heel width. Most C/J guitars have a 2 1/4" heel width, and Warmoth uses the more standard 2 3/16" pocket. I'd check around to see what heel width these have. When Newc sold his recently, he listed it as 2 3/16", so that had me wondering about them.

The neck heel width should be 2 & 1/4" - that's what the spec sheets say for the Production models.

(And Newc has been occassionally known to get these things incorrect. )
