I've dealt with Matt's, OnlineStageGear (another Matt), Copperhead (back when it was VWall Guitars), and Piney Hills. All of them were great to deal with, and are really great guys that aren't just doing the business for the business - they're players as well, and they know all about the screwjobs you get with "typical" shops. From my experience with them, they run their shops the way it should be done - with honesty, integrity, and quality service.
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood
The most human thing we can do is comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.
Yeah in a perfect world... The closest one to me is a four hour drive. Carving out a 10 hour day when you have active young kids is a bit rough. Hard enough to get an hour a day (at 5am) to practice.
Thanks to all for the info. I got a response from Matt's I just need to decide Red or Yellow...
Curt Chubtone on this forum of Squid Music is a great dealer and a great guy to do business with!! I have got 4 Charvels from him total and he is very knowledgeable of Charvels in general.
I bought one at the Sam Ash in Hollywood- They are light years ahead of GC (who doesn't carry anything anyway), actually did a decent set up right on the spot and you have price matching/30 day satisfaction guarantee.
I have gotten great deals and service from many of the dealers. Fullers Vintage Guitar, Matts Music, Copperhead, Drum City/Guitar Land. Take your pick. It might come down to what's in stock where.
