Hey guys,
I know this probably sounds loco since the neck is the major reason why so many like Charvels in the first place, but I've just grown out my thin neck years and prefer more of a '59 feel in my old age. I recently picked up a San Dimas Style 1 and although it's a fun guitar to play, I can't bond with the thin neck. Prior to buying it, I was considering building a Warmoth super strat with one of their fat necks ('59, boatneck, etc.), so I'm thinking at this point that I'll sell the neck and keep the body and replace it with something aftermarket. It definitely seems to be the easiest and most cost effective way to get what I want since the body has all the specs that I'd want if I started from scratch. Plus, resale on these guitars seems low while individual parts (in my case - the neck) seem to fetch a good price. With that being said, does anyone know if a Warmoth neck would be a direct replacement on a San Dimas Style1 or would I need to go through Musikraft or elsewhere? I really like Warmoth's stuff, especially their '59 carve necks. Thanks.
