• Holoflake finish

Alright lads.
Was the Holoflake finish (pic to follow) a custom only colour? In particular, I'd like to know if a certain '94 SL1 in Holoflake is a custom or just a rarity.
Thanks

James

Re: Holoflake finish

I just deleted a mail from Kevin Easton saying that it was a standard finish in (I believe) '93 and '94 - but just for those 2 years. I've been looking at that soloist as well (it's only about 20 minutes from me!) but to my way of thinking, he wants a bit too much - the pickups in that era of soloist do nothing for me (in comparison to the SDs in the SL1), so I'll wait and see if he drops any more...after all, there's plenty more fish in the sea!

Nice looking guitar! I've never seen that finish before. Just out of curiosity, how much is he asking for it?

Hey James,
Do you own this SL1?
If so, let me know if you ever want to sell it. I have always loved holoflake finishes. Remember that Kramer that had that weird hologram finish?

You after that one too, James?
The seller's not far away from me,but it's just a bit too expensive to justify. Bloody beautiful guitar though!

the holoflake is pretty easy to do....we have been doing holoflakes that are mixed with kandy colors for some cool effects

James,
Thanks for the quick reply. Seems a bit high on the price for a ten year old guitar, even if the finish is rare.
Doug,
Yeah! That is the kind of finish I was thinking of...holoflash.
Thanks!

The thing is, theres not that many Jacksons in the UK, so they arent cheap.
