• Gold abalone/mother of pearl?

I seem to be going thru a phase right now, regarding gold abalone/mother of pearl inlays and bindings. I previously owned a Ibaneze UV777, and was so googoo over the mother of pearl bindings and inlay work. My jackson also has the mother of pearl logo, which I love! I can totally picture the golden version of this. Has anyone ever seen it? What do my fellow JCF members think about the idea?

    Re: Gold abalone/mother of pearl?

I have gold pearl inlays and side dots on a Jackson JDX-94 Concept Dinky. At the time, I thought it was the greatest guitar I'd ever seen, but after replacing all the black hardware with gold (guitar is black btw), the plastic dot inlays looked really lame. I had all the inlays replace with gold pearl, including blocks at the 12th and 24th frets. I used to have pics online, but currently don't. If I can find them, I'll post it. With the right finish and fretboard, it can look incredible, but I've seen some LPs with gold pearl that looked awful.
