  • Discontinued Guitars.

Just wondering which Guitars have been discontinued and why?

    Discontinued

    USA

Jackson KV1 - Dave Mustaine Signature basically, No Dave, No KV1.
Jackson KE1 - Marty Friedman Signature basically, No Marty, No KE1
    Jackson RR2 - ???
    Jackson Y2KV - See KV1
Jackson XTRR - Not enough sales as not many midgets tend to play the rhoads.
    JJ1 - Scott Ian bailed.

    Import

    Jackson SL4 - ???
    Jackson KV3 - ???
Jackson Futura Bass - Concert bass is the only Jackson Bass selling well enough to stay on the market.
Jackson JZB2 Bass - See Futura Bass
Jackson RR24M - Rhoads fanboys don't tend to like change.
    Jackson JTX - Telecaster.

Anyone wanna just help me make a list?
just post the guitar and the reason why it was discontinued or just the reason as I still have no explanation for the SL4 and RR2...

Here are the ones I can think of ,

USA - Fusions shortscale would be my guess
USA - SLATQH never a true production guitar
USA - SLS No floyd and funky headstock 3x3
USA - SL2 to test the water for the current SL2H
            USA - AT1 funky headstock
ALL of the early PROs , RR , Soloist , Fusion , Warrior , Archtop Soloist , King V and Kelly . Were built way to good , had to go.
            Mike
            --------------------------------------------------------------------
            SLS TG // SLATQH TSB // 2 CS Soloists both 24.75 scale // 5 Archtop PROs //

                XTRR

Oh, and Firebird, Roundhorn V and Explorer. But they were never production...

RR24M - One pickup and Puritanical asshats who bemoaned the fact it was a Rhoads with 24 frets instead of 22 "the way Randy wanted it".

Anything with a 3x3 headstock, again, because of Puritanical asshats who are afraid of change, including the very spirit of change and being different from everything else that Jackson fucking started from because they're fucking narrow-minded retards who like to fuck shit up for everyone else.

Futura bass - Jackson's only smash hit bass was the Concert (Soloist style). Alignment with Kip Winger didn't help, even though it was solid Lacewood and by far the best looking, sounding, and playing bass Jackson ever made.

                      Anti-Gravity bass - fugly.

JZB2 bass - Jackson's only smash hit bass was the Concert (Soloist style).

Anything other than the USA Concert bass: Jackson's only smash hit bass was the Concert (Soloist style).

                      JTX - Telecaster. 'Nuff said.

                      KV3 - 22 frets and bolt-on neck.

                      KE7/RR7 - 7-string necks on the worst-balanced bodies Jackson makes = nosedive.

XTRR - As people discovered meat, they grew larger than Danny Spitz, and thus a miniature Rhoads V was too small for anyone except Danny. Since Danny wasn't exactly keeping that boat afloat singlehandedly.....

                      JJ1 - Scott Ian bailed.

Concept Series imports - became Performer series.
Performer Series - became XT series.
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

this is kind of like a "name every production Jackson that every was, except for whatever is currently in production" thread.

Aside from the MM Dominion, which has managed to make it, so far.
