The 2005 charvel pointy I have is really thin too.

I do like the neck on my Predator and it does seem a bit thinner than current import Jacksons, but nothing is as thin as Ibanez' Wizard neck. That was almost too thin and made my wrist hurt after an hour or so of playing.
Interesting that you find you can stretch more with a thinner neck. I wouldn't think that would make a difference, since the thumb isn't really connected to your fingers.Scott

Good info Rich!
I like thin necks too, not wizard thin though. the fretboard can't be too wide either. It's weird though on occation I have found some very thick necks that were great too ala peavey patriot and a washburn mg usa. I don't get it. lol

And Matt, as for custom necks, this is what I have been saying, the Jackson necks and "certain" Charvels are perfect for me in every way. I mean fingerboard radius, fret size, the feel I just really love these now. And I don't think it's just me because of how many others enjoy the feel of those as well.
Also I want to clear the air here on this subject.........
Matt_B, Ayrton and lerxstcat, I appologise if I have offended any of you in any way - not at all what I wanted to do. I type very slow but think very fast and what I want to say say in a thread doesn't always come out the way I'd like. Plus if we we're all having a conversation at my house over a few bottles of cold "Dr. Pepper" we would have much more fun at this. On the internet you can't see the other person and if you read too fast things can get taken in the wrong manner.
So my point of this post was simply to find out as much about my favorite neck as I can and I thank everyone for their advice!

It's all cool, Dannyjoe, and you're right, it's easy to misinterpret on the Internet. Welcome to the JCF, this is surely the sun source for knowledge of all things Jackson and Charvel!
Although I will take a DIET Dr. Pepper; diabetic, you see...Ron is the MAN!!!!

Some may laugh at this, but since this thread seems to be on neck profile, and I havn't seen mention of this yet, here we go.
I found a Charvette 150 at a pawn shop ($75) with a neck I believe is Charvel stock that went on a Charvette. :ROTF:
Wait now.
Check the details.
It has the same -
narrow 12th fret dots, scarf joint, back of neck sculpting at heel, fretboard, frets & dress quality, 12-16 radius, nut, and truss rod rout & truss nut.
The neck profile is the same as on my 86 Model 2 & 3. A little thinner than on my 87 3A. This neck plays & feels as good as any Model neck I've ever played on & better than some.
Also of note: The tuners are the same Jackson (TM) tuners as on the 86 Models, It has the smooth gloss Kahler string lock with flat-head lock screws, and, the body is not Plywood. I stripped it, and it is 2 piece Basswood. Not a pretty piece of wood, but not plywood. The strap knobs & jack plate are same as Charvel.
Pickups, electronics, & bridge are lower quality cheap stuff.
I use it for daily warm up. Saves the wear on the Charvel's.
Just thought I would throw this out there.
Now for the beat-down. Its OK, I can take it.
Link to pics of my Charvel's & the Charvette:

Sorry for the crappy pic, But who cars about quality pics of a Charvette.Models
The prudes may snub them, but I don't care.
I dont need furniture.
If its tough, shreds, and screams, Its all good.
If it gets jacked, I'll get another one.
And rock that sucker.

I couldn't get to the pic for some reason but I love the idea of old beater guitars that becomes my main player.
A quick story - when I had my repair shop these guys brought me an old desert sun yellow Ibanez RG550 that they had drilled over 70 holes in. They had seen pics of Steve Vai's old swiss cheese guitar and thought they'd try it. But they drilled through the wires and pickup selector. So they brought it to me to try and fix. So I used 1/4" maple doles and plugged every hole then sprayed it with flex-stone to hide the rough surface then shot it fire engine red!! But the next week they came to pick it up they had brought a Jem 7 string that needed new pickups put in and asked me if I would take the guitar I just fixed in trade for the work now needed. I did and that guitar was my main axe for 10 years!
Here's this guitar:
