It certainly doesn't look anything like the Nagel's I've seen. It could just be a Jackson custom paint job. His artwork is fairly distinctive.

thats what I thought. All nagel's stuff looks unique, like a signature almost. this guitar doesnt resemble his work IMO.

I believe the first one was done by Dan Lawrence. It was in his photo book I had, IIRC.

As I understood it, Jackson would have one artist do a really stunning version of a given graphic, then have someone else come in who could replicate that graphic for less money and in higher quantities/shorter time.

Either that or the artists they hired back then (including DL) were way inconsistent.

Very cool info newc! I found it fasinating the process they went through to do this - they must have sat down and had meetings discussing the routes they would take for a particular line and then crunch the numbers to make it profitable.

What kind of FB wood is that? Looks a little like birdseye but darker like rosewood. It's hard to tell from the pic.

It looks like dirty maple of some sort.
