It'll be fine. There's plenty of people here who have "ebonized" their rosewood boards. Use the search function.

My 92 Stealth Pro has a couple of streaks in the ebony board. Personally I dont mind the streaks. Ebony is about the tone and the feel at least for me it is. I like a guitar thats unique and if my piece of ebony is different from yours im ok with that. Yes there are certain cases where the look does make a difference but thats few and far between.

And for my own taste I use Minwax wipe-on-poly to seal the board because my hands sweat and sometimes the dye can come off.

Being that this is my nicest guitar at the moment I don't want to fuk it up but at the same time I'm eyeballing a usa soloist that I may trade towards. I had a black ghost flame RR1 that I traded for an ESP, I wish I could go back in time & slap the shit out my self before I handed it over.
So I would mask everything off with tape first and be very careful!

I love the way they look and if they play anywhere as well as they look,
one of the two (ebony board preferably) will be mine.
They are plain and nothing flashy to look at and that's how I like them.
How does it play turk?Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.
