• Hi all you Jackson/Charvel guys!

I've been a Dean guy myself, but Dean just doesn't have what I want in a strat type guitar. Your own buddy guitarforceone has influenced me to come over here for satisfaction in this regard. So I'll be checking around here and learning about the J/C scene. Who knows, maybe I'll join y'all in more ways than posting here!

I wonder if the purchase by Fender will put an end to set-neck, strat type guitars? Fender hasn't shown interest in such guitars, which is why I'm here (no bolt-on guitars for me). I'm in the market for a Charvel Model 6 and I'm also a tightwad, so I probably won't have a lot of luck. Imports are fine with me, as I don't care to pay inflated US labor rates (I don't mind getting paid inflated US labor rates, though )

Greetings!! This site is pretty cool....lots of great people here. If they can't tell you something about Jackson's or other guitars, well, maybe you really don't wanna know.

    Have fun.....Enjoy the site.

Re: Hi all you Jackson/Charvel guys!

A set neck is the kind of neck joint they use on Gibsons, where the neck isn't bolted on, and it doesn't go through the body either. There is a piece of the body carved away, and the neck has a matching piece that slides in there, then it is glued together. I have never seen a Jackson set-neck guitar before.

The Charvel 750XL was a set neck, and I think some of the Swee-Tones are also.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Thats what i meant on clarifying, i know what a set-neck is, it just that he's talking about Fender and Jackson and they are Bolt-ons and Neck-thru and i was wondering why he was talking about set-necks.

Oh great, now this forum has to put up with Tom's BS. If you don't like the American labor rate, then go buy a Hondo and shut up.

BY the way, DEan hasn't had a decent guitar since the early eighties. Burn them, and buy Charvels & Jacksons, & the occasional Les Paul Custom!!!
