It was a light rosewood. And DonP, I do kick myself almost daily for getting rid of it. Im sure it will turn up on ebay again though(seen it once already) maybe next time around Ill have the money to get it back.

      pickup

I saw a scan of a 1988 and 89 catalog It showed a white Predator in one and a red in the other(toothpaste charvel logo)and listed the bridge pup as a JC90 maybe it's called J90C. The picture showed a covered pickup and the neck pickup was not the one with rails. But both were Jacksons. But on ebay a couple months back there was one, the listing stated (with origional EMG's) I know Jackon pickups have a sticker on the bottem of them with the model number. or at least all I've seen.

          info

Still does anyone know what the factory installed bridge pickup was in these. Were the firecrackels different than the solid color ones as far as pickups. Two new questions does anybody know when Charvel changed from the guitar logo to the cursive logo(I'm guessing 87 or 88) and how to date pre fender owned Charvels

The pickup has been said many times already in this thread! It's the J-90C. NO the firecrackels were not different. Charvel changed the logo in 89. Read old threads and look at the catalogs, there's too much info to say when they were made. the easiest are the logo changes and the change from kahler to JT to schaller.

As far as I know the stock bridge pickup is a covered, Jackson-logoed J-90C (should be on a sticker on the bottom of the pickup).

The switchover from logos happened sometime around 89/90.

There really is no way to date the guitars. If you post the serial here someone may be able to give you a rough idea.
