Yeah, I've always wanted to check out both of these guitars but I've never seen one in person...

I was looking at a neck that was half-scalloped, I think that might be a cool thing to check out. I don't see the point in having the first 12 frets scalloped really. :dunno:

I liked the scalloped frets from the 17th up IIRC on the LTD 88 i had. It let me sausage fingers get a better grip on the strings in the smaller board areas. I've often thought about gettin a cheap guitar just to have it done or buy a used one that already is.

Have had my Yngwie signature Strat for a few years now, and I agree with everything Fatstrat said.

I absolutely love the feel of a fully scalloped neck, and the fact that it FORCES you to be a better player.

I like it so much, that I am in the process of retro-fitting all my guitars with Dunlop 6000 fretwire (gives you maybe 80% of the benefits of a fully scalloped neck)

I have a factory scalloped 89 Jackson Rhoads from 12-22 frets. Honestly, it doesn't make one bit of difference to me either way. I still sound the same and do not play any faster on it than on my other Jacksons. If you fret those areas real hard you can cause a note to go sharp but its really never been an issue for me so it makes no difference to me. Based on it not making a difference to me one way or another, I'd save the money and spend it elsewhere on the guitar.
