  • Selling a Jackson

I got this Custom Shop Jackson I got last year. Now I've ended up putting it out for sale. I have a friend that gets very attached to his guitars. He asked me if I'm gonna miss it. I'm actually not sure.. The guitars works now, but didn't have the "wow"-factor that my other CS Jackson got.
Anyone of you lot that has parted with a guitar and regreted it?
Or had a guitar you just didn't manage to bond with?

Regret losing my 76 LP Custom Black Beauty (three pickups, loaded w/Dimarzio SD's...

Could NOT bond with the KV2, no matter how badly I wanted to..
Bon Jovi is like a frozen Coca Cola.. It's cool, it's crunchy, but when all is said and done it is still pop....

The thing about this guitar is that I know what I'll miss! It's the pick-up combination: It has a PC-1 setup. And I love that, but I has to play as well.

Sold an older 22 fret Jackson DK1 to get a new Jackson SL2H - no regrets!
Sold a Kramer nightswan, BC RICH gunslinger, Peavey wolfgang standard, and Hamer Centaura also for funds for the Jackson SL2H and for a new Jem 77Vbk.
I only kind of regret selling the nightswan, but in reality, I never played it much....no neck pickup and the R1 nut was just WAY too narrow for my wide fingers. It was hard to play open chords without accidentally muting strings. Still wish I had it though, it was cool to look at and sounded great. But I decided to stop being a collector and invest in a collection of guitars I love to play. Doesn't get better than a Jackson soloist or a Jem for me.

Regret selling my first year Jem. It was an 87' 777SK with the rare palm rest over the bridge. It helped pay my car, but i still regret it. One day I'll get another 777 but the 87's are rare and the ones for sale are few and far apart, by the time i am willing to buy one i might not be in the best position to pay for it :/

I've had more than a few that I didn't end up liking in the long run... A few Gibsons, a Strat or two, Model 4 with a Kahler.

I can't say I've really sold one that I regretted. If I like them, I keep them. If I don't like them, I don't play them, and I don't keep the ones I don't play.

The only one I miss is Charvel 5490 the next to last USA made one, just a killer guitar.

I've never regretting keeping a guitar but I have regretted selling a few. That's why I'm now enforcing a strict "Never sell or trade a guitar" policy on myself.

Yes. I always missed the Kramer Focus 2000 I bought in a pawn shop for $175.00. No kidding. I traded it against a Westone and I hated that guitar for years until I finally got rid of it.

The Kramer was a cheapie, but it sounded great and felt good in the hands.

I've never missed any of my guitars. I'm not that attached to a certain neck profile. As long as I got low action, I can play anything. But I do miss certain sounds. I need to have a singlecoil-equipped guitar. I want to have a seven-string guitar and so on.

I regret getting rid of my old Les Paul copy. It was a cheapie and I knew nothing about what constituted good tone at the time so I couldn't even say if it sounded any good. But it was my first electric & my dad bought it for me. Wish I'd hung onto it.
