  • intonate dx10d?

I got a DX10D in a trade but I have a question. I am trying to intonate it but the saddle is all the way back already and it's still sharp. What do I do now to get it intonated there is no room left for it to go back anymore and I'm fooked. Thanks

Are you sure? There are two screwholes to choose from for the saddle.

    Are they new strings?

Which string, Ive found some guitars just wont intonate the G perfectly, also how sharp is it, if its just shy of center or even a little more than just shy of center its not gonna matter to much unless youre absolutely anal about it.

For me it's always the low E on a Jackson. Always. Every other string intonates jus fine, but the low E always needs another 1/16".

I have always had serious doubts about Jackson's ability to locate a tuneomatic properly.

I find the low e intonates best with the saddle (on a floyd) all the way up with the screw in the first hole( most inward hole). Works for me every time.

Ah, I thought it was the stringthrough/TOM model. Missed the part about the saddle being in the 2nd hole, indicating a trem.

Anyway, about all you can do is remove the saddle and try to grind a small notch into the baseplate or grind off a bit more of the rear of the saddle where it touches the slanted part.

It's possible the bridge was just placed to close to the neck. Although I'd expect that from a JS series, not an X series.

Well, if it's placed too close to the neck, there ain't shit can be done about that

Best you can do is mod the crap out of that one saddle.

Can you post pics showing the trem & nut?

                      A few things to check;
How high is the action and is the trem setting level?
Does the nut look to be mounted correct?
What is the measurement from the nut to the 12th fret,
and from the 12th fret to the bridge saddle?
How close are the pups to that string?
Do the rest of the strings intonate correctly?
What gauge and brand of strings are you using?
Have you tried a different string?
                      Models
The prudes may snub them, but I don't care.
                      I dont need furniture.
If its tough, shreds, and screams, Its all good.
If it gets jacked, I'll get another one.
                      And rock that sucker.

Even though the screw is in the farthest hole back, you can still loosen it, slide the saddle back, then tighten it down.

Is it so far out of whack that this won't work?

Is there some kind of nut or something that holds the screw on underneath?
