Your first Jackson/Charvel?

First Jackson was a MM1 Dominion I got for Christmas of 2007. My first USA Jackson was my Custom Shop Soloist that I ordered a year after I bought the Dominion.

The paintjob never made any sense to me - what is it supposed to be? And the painted-on bulletholes I really hated. Probably 'cos my buddy had a Gunslinger with real bulletholes in it...

My first was a barely-used Charvel Model 4 with a Kahler in Ferrari Red. It would have been roughly 1988 or so. I really loved the neck, but didn't like the Kahler.

Some of those old graphics were lame, but back in the day I guess wild graphics weren't being offered by guitar manufacturers.

Grahf, I know what you mean...but I grew up DIRT poor and relished anything that would stay in tune!

That Glow for me is the vanilla smell of the Model 88 Chainsaw case...
odd, but others have reported that peculiar candy smell.
It stays with the guitar.

My model 6's chainsaw case has funny smell you can almost describe as vanilla, so I know what you mean.

My first is an RR3, I bought from an ad I saw at a record store. It was my first guitar with a Floyd on it. I bought it for only $250 from the guy. It reeked of cigarette smoke when I bought it. A few months later, a coil blew out in the bridge, so I replaced the Duncan Designs with EMGs,(81/81) which helped give a heavy but very sharp tone. It's been my main guitar since.

My first Charvel (well sort of a Charvel) was a red crackle MIJ Charvette 270 I got in 91 or 92 and I still have it, with everything upgraded. My first Jackson was a trans blue MIJ PS2 I got it around 08 and still have it also. They both get used at every show I play.

My first Jackson period was King V Professional in purple.

My first USA Jackson was an SL1 I landed in a local store for $650 back in 2000.

My first Jackson was a JS30 Kelly. I fell in love with the way it looked, felt & played, but decided I needed sharkfin inlays.
From that point on I have loved Jacksons, and the Kelly is still my favorite body shape.

This is my first charvel - bought it somewhere around 1990 at Steve's Music in Toronto. I think the model is called fusion; anyone know for sure?

My first Jackson, was my DKMG in 2005 that my Dad bought me in 2005, I asked him for the DXMG but it was out of stock in the shop so he bought me the DKMG (eventhough it was like £200 more than the DXMG) and I'm glad he did and my first Charvel (and only one so far ) is my 375 DLX in Trans Purple, it's my main guitar these days.
